DE MEVIUS EMERGE AS WINNER

Guillaume de Mevius and Tosha Schareina were crowned as champions in the car and bike categories, respectively in the 40th edition of Baja España Aragón, after a weekend in which they both put up a dominant performance.

The Belgian driver completed a perfect weekend on Sunday by securing his first victory in Teruel after clocking the third-fastest time in the third and last special stage of the race. The overall podium was completed by Lithuanian Rokas Baciuska (Toyota) and Portuguese Joao Ferreira (Mini).

Guillaume De Mervius: “It’s a very important victory for me and I’m very happy. I hope it’s the first victory of many.”

The fastest in the third special stage of the Baja España Aragón was Yazeed Al-Rajhi, who, after solving the mechanical problems he had in yesterday’s stage, was able to take the start this Sunday and win the last 162 kilometres of the race.

In the Challenge category, Eryk Goczal and Oriol Mena won with the Taurus. Ghislain De Mevius and Nasser Al-Attiyah finished second and third, respectively.

In the SSV World Cup classification, Gonçalo Guerreiro and José Sa (Polaris) won. They were more than ten minutes ahead of Ruben Rodrigues and Rui Paulo (BRP). The third position overall went to Paul Severin and Max Delfino (Polaris).

In the Spanish Cross Country Rally Championship, Nani Roma and Álex Haro (Ford) took the victory with a lead of more than eleven minutes over João Días and Pedro Re (G Rally OT3). Eduard Pons and Jaume Betriú (Taurus) took the third step of the podium.

In the SSV category of the Spanish Cross Country Rally Championship, the victory went to Teófilo Viñaras and Roberto Viñaras (Yamaha) after a great weekend and resisting the pressure from Edesio Camaño and Carmelo Moline who eventually took the second place. Ramón Vidal and Alfonso Arderu (Can-Am) finished third.

Martin Macik took his fifth victory in the Baja España Aragón on Sunday after a weekend of absolute domination in the truck category. Second place went to Claudio Bellina, while Richard de Groot completed the podium.
