Nani Roma joins the Baja Spain Aragón

The 40th edition of the Baja España Aragón starts this Friday with the prologue stage that will set the starting order for the crews in the car and bike categories for the stages on Saturday and Sunday.

Nani Roma is the main novelty on the entry list. The nine-time winner of the Baja España Aragón (5 times in cars and 4 times in bikes) will drive a Ford Ranger T1+ from the Past Racing team for the overall victory.

Nani Roma: “Daniel Alonso called me and asked me if I was willing to do the Baja, as he is not fully recovered from the injury he suffered a few days ago. The objective is to continue to develop the Ranger T1+, which I know very well as it is identical to the one I drove until the last Dakar. Matthew Wilson authorised me to drive, and here we are! It will be a good preparation for both Alex and me ahead of the Hungarian Baja in two weeks’ time, where we will be using the Raptor T1+ for the first time.”

Nasser Al-Attiyah is making his debut in this Baja with the Taurus, trying to cause a surprise in the fight for the overall podium. Yazeed Al-Rajhi, who is fighting for the title in the FIA Cross Country Baja World Cup, is another favourite for victory in the car category.

In the motorbike category, the battle between Tosha Schareina and Lorenzo Santolino is expected to be very exciting. The Honda rider, winner of the last two editions, said: “It’s an iconic race, with a high level, there are many and very good riders, but I will fight for the victory.”

As for the other categories, Martin Macik in trucks and Dani Vilà in quads will also fight for the victory. The prologue stage can be followed live on the Baja España Aragón streaming:
